In light of recent budget cuts to the NEA (with more scary proposals on the table in Washington for further cuts), I want to share a few links from Americans for the Arts:
- Support two important areas of arts education advocacy by calling for more inclusion of the arts in the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (most recently called No Child Left Behind) and for more funding for the Arts in Education program in the U.S. Department of Education. Help us remind Congress that the arts ARE education!
- Don’t let the cuts to the NEA budget go any further! Members of the Republican Study Committee are proposing to eliminate the NEA completely. We can’t let this happen. Let your voice be heard. Speak up for the arts!
If the arts have made a difference in your life, tell Congress about it!
